Thank you for your interest in applying to the AMIA 2026 First Look for Students Program! 

On behalf of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA), we are inviting undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in informatics and/or science, technology, math, engineering (S.T.E.M.) and students in medical and nursing schools to attend the 10th annual AMIA First Look Program for Students. The goal is to expose students to the informatics field.

Date: AMIA 2026 Annual Symposium, Sunday, November 8. The full conference is November 7 - 11. 

Location: Hilton Anatole, 2201 Stemmons Freeway Dallas, TX 75207

Application Deadline: Friday, October 16, 2026 by 11:59 pm PT. 

How to submit an application for AMIA's First Look:

Create an account with AMIA on amia.org.

Submit and advance to the First Look for Students application.

Complete the application. You will receive a receipt confirmation email.

If you are accepted, you will receive a welcome invitation, program information, special discount codes for complimentary one-day Symposium registration and 2027 student/trainee membership.

There are limited spots and so please apply early. The program is open to undergraduate and graduate students interested in informatics but are not currently enrolled in an informatics program. 

Application and selection for participation in the AMIA First Look for Students Program is inclusive and open to all.
